The purpose of the Hmong Health Education Network group is to share health education events for the Hmong, along with new health and safety resources. We are evaluating whether this group can replace the Hmong Health mailing list; neither has been very active over the past year. Please join us to discuss the future of the network, as funding sources are dwindling. The website for this network is Hmonghealth.org. We're recruiting volunteers to to help add and edit links and other resources. If interested, please write to pegallen @ gmail.com.
Hmong Nurses is a forum for Hmong nurses and nursing students; members can invite others to join. Two members met on June 16, 2012 and started a new organization, the Hmong Nurses Association, for Hmong nurses everywhere. Their goals:
To have a professional association for Hmong nurses everywhere. To further develop the profession of nursing, educate and provide support for Hmong nurses. To network Hmong nurses. To provide health care resources and outreach for the Hmong Community.
Hmong Physicians is for Hmong who are physicians, or aspiring to a career in medicine.
Hmong medicine, health and healing is where the cultural, medical and spiritual overlaps. This group is created to both share and document traditional and other contemporary Hmong medical practices. This includes shamanic, Christian, herbal, surgical, holistic, and other practices (Western and Eastern).
